Artwork for a friend's RPG entitled THE CORE. It's post-apocalyptic Toronto. What's left of humankind occupies the highest reaches of old skyscrapers, avoiding the mysterious and deadly ground fog that appears without warning, seemingly alive. A few buildings have managed to survive the destruction for the most part. They are occupied by a collection of tribes that fill certain niches for survival, together forming a makeshift society.
This is two panels long, like an album cover. The background is a collection of 2D city images layered in Photoshop, and the 'The Core' building on the left was created in 3D (Modo) and composited in PS.
Thank you! They grow their own food in vertical farms (an idea currently being promoted by some architects), scavenging, and trade (air balloon, ground-based caravans, and shipping), but it's risky. There are tribes that specialise in these and other services. The tech tree tends to be spotty as a result - cheap gene splicing, but limited fresh water; that sort of thing.
